French and Spanish Spelling Marks Notes

These are the names of the accents used in French and Spanish, along with the Microsoft Word keyboard instructions for putting them over a letter. These instructions do not work in Power Point or Publisher. I recommend typing your text in Word, then copying and pasting into Power Point, Publisher, or other programs.

é (Cécile) Push these at the same time: Control and Apostrophe Keys Then push the letter.
è (là-bas) Push these at the same time: Control and Grave Accent/Tilde Keys Then push the letter.
û (août) Push these at the same time: Control, Shift, and Circonflexe Keys Then push the letter.
ë (Noëlle) Push these at the same time: Control, Shift, and Colon Then push the letter.
ç français Push these at the same time: Control and Comma Then push the c.
ñespañolPush these at the same time:Control Shift TildeThen push the n.
¿ (the upside down question mark) Push all four keys together: Control, Shift, Alt, and Question Mark
¡ (the upside down exclamation point) Push all four keys together: Control, Shift, Alt, and Exclamation Point

Note:

You won't see the accent on the screen until you push the letter.
