Lesson 9 Verbs
marcher
Marcher is a regular er verb in French. It has two meanings:
- (for people) to walk
- Ils marchent dans le parc. (They are walking in the park.) Ils font une promenade. (They are taking a walk.)
- Je n'aime pas le bus. (I don't like the bus.) Je marche à l'école. (I walk to school.)
- (for objects, things) to run, to work
- Mon nouveau baladeur marche très bien. (My new iPod works very well.)
- Les ordinateurs à l'école ne marchent pas très bien. (The computers at the school don't work very well.
Review the regular er verb conjugation:
- je marche (I walk)
- tu marches(you walk)
- il marche (he walks or it works)
- nous marchons (we walk)
- vous marchez (you walk)
- ils marchent (they walk or they work)
