Flashcards
Make your cards
Put the French/Spanish word on one side, put the English on the other side. Make sure you can't see the answer through the card.
Divide into piles of 5 to 7.
Don't overload your short term memory by trying to cram all of them into your brain at the same time.
Step 1: Spanish/French to English
Look at the side with the Spanish or French. Say the word out loud. Then try to say the English without looking. If you have to look, go ahed. When you can do all of the cards in your pile without looking, move on to step 2.
Step 2: English to Spanish/French
Now flip the pile over. Say the English out loud, and try to say the Spanish or French without looking. When you can do all of these, move on to step 3.
Step 3: Spell out loud
Redo step 2, but this time, spell them out loud in Spanish or French.
Step 4: Write and spell out loud.
Redo step 3, but this time, write them as you spell them out loud.
When you can do all of them without looking...
Start the next pile of 5 to 7 cards. Then combine the two piles to see if you remember. Then get the next pile. You get the picture.
