Click here for an alphabetical listing of all recipes.Soak beans overnight. In morning, drain and replace water. Parboil 15 minutes (not longer). Drain, reserving hot water. Place onion in crockpot. Pour drained beans over onion. Add flavors dissolved in 1 ½ cup hot bean water. Add enough hot water to just cover top of beans. Place salt pork on top. Cover and set crockpot on high. Bring volume of water up about every 3 hours. Start pot at 9 AM. Beans will be ready by 4 PM (6-7 hours).
