- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 TBS cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. water
- 1/4 c. soft butter
- 1 TBS lemon rind
- 3 TBS lemon juice
- yellow food coloring
Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt in saucepan. Stir in water. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and clear. Blend in butter, lemon rind, juice, and a few drops of food coloring.
Serve over gingerbread. Makes 2 1/4 c.
