Hermits

In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed about 30 seconds or until softened. Add about half of the flour to the butter. Then add brown sugar, egg, coffee, cinnamon, baking soda, cloves, and nutmeg. Beat until thoroughly combined, scrapint the sides of bowl accasionally. Then beat or stir in the remaining flour. Stir in the raisins and chopped pecans.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in a 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Remove cookies and cool on wire racks.
